Donato D’Angelo was established in 2001 with the acquisition of about 20 hectares of vineyards located in the most classic production area of the AGLIANICO DEL VULTURE, including the municipalities of Barile, Ripacandida and Maschito.

The vineyards are 80% of the Aglianico variety with a percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon and Fiano.

The company, which is currently led by Filomena Ruppi and her husband Donato D'Angelo, who have been working in the family business for over four years (historical company in its area), has decided to turn its skills and Donato D'Angelo’s experience with this new company. Currently, the company's production is around 150,000 bottles which are exported to various European and non-EU countries.

The company philosophy is to provide a high-quality product and to focus on obtaining top results by exercising care in the management of over 20 hectares of vineyards and in the subsequent processing phases.

"Our goal is to provide and demonstrate consistent quality. We are also willing to sacrifice mediocre vintages, meaning if we are not particularly convinced of the quality of a vintage, then we do not bottle it." - Filomena

The company owns a winemaking and bottling cellar which is located in the centre of over 15 hectares of vineyards. Also, barrels and barriques for the aging of wines are stored in the cellar.
The company is looking towards the future and preparing for the arrival of their daughter Emiliana, an enology student, who will inaugurate the fourth generation of the family.

Balconara IGT Basilicata Rosso
This is a single vineyard wine produced from 50% of Aglianico grapes and 50% of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. For this wine, Tre Bicchieri Gambero Rosso has been awarded with the 2009 vintage. Also, this year, the 2012 vintage wine has been entered in the final
